Project Overview

"Time Traveler's Quest" is a hidden object game suitable for children ages 6 to 8. Players journey through different historical eras, searching for specific objects. The game is designed for landscape mode. Players tap or click to collect objects within a time limit, aiming to complete levels and achieve high scores.

Once children successfully complete a level, they're greeted with an educational message that provides insights into the era they've just explored. With each level completed, players not only progress in the game but also deepen their knowledge and appreciation of different historical periods, making learning an exciting adventure in itself.

Role Description

My role as the designer of "Time Traveler's Quest" was to create a visually stunning, user-friendly, and educational gaming experience that sparks children's imagination, curiosity, and love for learning about history. Through thoughtful design, I aimed to deliver a game that captivates young players and leaves a lasting impression. The key areas I covered were:

●   Conceptualizing the overall look and feel of the game
●   Creating an intuitive and engaging user experience
●   Ensuring consistency in style and tone
●   Engaging in iterative design to improve the game experience

Design Process

In the design process for "Time Traveler's Quest," I started by brainstorming the game's concept, theme, and mechanics to make sure they would appeal to our target audience of children aged 6 to 8. I then created storyboards and wireframes to lay out the game’s structure and flow, planning out levels, scenes, and interactions.

Next, I moved on to the visual design phase, creating artwork, characters, and environments that brought historical eras to life, drawing inspiration from historical references and children’s literature.

These graphics were used as sub-brand logos for each lesson in the worksheets and posters of the learning module.

I integrated educational messages throughout the game to enhance the learning experience. I also focused on making the game accessible and easy to understand for children with different abilities.

User Experience Vision

My vision for the user experience in "Time Traveler's Quest" is to create an engaging and educational journey that sparks children's interest in history through interactive play. I want players to explore various historical eras and learn about different cultures and events in a fun, captivating way. The game aims to foster curiosity and encourage learning by embedding educational messages into the gameplay, which are revealed as players successfully complete levels.

My goal is for "Time Traveler's Quest" to be a game that kids love to play and parents feel good about because it combines entertainment with educational value.
